i flew across the pacific

After months of anticipation, I am here!
In Korea!
With my little Kier Kier!
Dreams do come true.
I'll let you know how it all went when I return.

P.S. Look at this! When I previewed this in order to post it...

...my computer spoke to me in Korean!
I didn't expect my computer to become so cultured.

the agenda of an 8 year old

Miss Hatcher: So, Robert, big plans for your Thursday night?

Robert: Yeah, I've gotta chase my nephew, play with my niece, play with my action figures, go to bed, then come back to school.

Miss Hatcher: Wow!

Robert: Yeah, I know I have a lot planned. Miss Hatcher, you know what? I got a good beating last night. I got a spanking, my mom, she hit me with a belt that says "foxy." She hit me with the metal part! I'm lucky she didnt take down my pants! Because one time she did that, and my booty was light red.

the work never stops...

Yesterday I worked a fourteen hour day. It was quite a feat. How did I do it? Mexican food and Chris Brown.

I listened to every song on his new album at least three times! I haven't done that with an album since Imogen.

I never doubted you for a second, CB; I knew you'd make a comeback.

goodbye, dj

Yesterday I traded in my little car. It broke my heart! With all of the laughs and heart-to-hearts I had while sitting in the front seat, I became a little more myself at every place that car took me to. It was hard to leave it behind!

Fortunately, as the ad below proves, Volkswagen is the coolest, and I bought myself a sparkly new (to me) VW Rabbit. According to the janitor at school, it is "pimpin.'" (He's from Long Beach.)

i had a weird weekend

When I got home on Sunday, I felt like I had been living in an alternate universe for the last few days. It wasn't good or bad; it just left me wondering how it is possible for my life to take such weird turns so often.

But, I also...

1. learned I'm pretty good on my own
2. enjoyed some tasty white wine sangria, and
3. was reminded that summer is almost here by some captivating photography...

After a few hugs from my students Monday morning, this was all I needed to feel like myself again!
